Vienna/Linz, 14 August 2026 – Linz-based JKU spin-off Ablatic AI is developing Talos, a European Large Language Model (LLM) designed specifically for enterprise use. The model focuses on regulated industries, European data sovereignty, GDPR-compliant data processing and transparent, traceable AI. Its market launch is scheduled for the end of August 2026.

Europe needs powerful artificial intelligence solutions that also meet high standards for data protection, transparency and digital sovereignty. This is precisely where Ablatic AI comes in. Talos has been developed specifically for enterprises and regulated industries such as banking, insurance and software.

Ablatic AI was founded by Florian Zimmermann, CEO, and Julian Mauerkirchner, CTO. The idea emerged from their joint work on AI solutions for businesses. Their experience showed that existing European models often do not provide the performance required for demanding enterprise use cases, while international solutions can involve high costs and dependencies on infrastructure outside Europe.

Research, infrastructure and technology transfer

As a spin-off of Johannes Kepler University Linz, Ablatic AI is closely integrated into Austria’s AI ecosystem. The company collaborates with AI Factory Austria AI:AT and, within the framework of the EuroHPC programme, uses European high-performance computing resources to develop and optimise its language model.

The combination of university research, European computing infrastructure and entrepreneurial implementation provides a strong foundation for rapidly translating research into market-ready AI solutions.

A European approach for regulated industries

With Talos, Ablatic AI is pursuing a distinctly European approach. The language model is operated on infrastructure located in Austria and other European data centres. Customer data is not used for model training. Companies retain control over their data and gain access to an AI solution designed around the legal, regulatory and operational requirements of European organisations.

Talos has been tested in a beta phase involving more than 100 companies. The official market launch is planned for the end of August 2026. Further technical details, benchmarks, partners and initial use cases will be presented as part of the launch announcement.
