Python and AI to be included in the first part of the course from now on
A key focus of the event was the presentation of a major update to the curriculum for the 2026 intake: Python and AI projects will be firmly embedded in the first stage of the programme from now on. This will give students access, right from the start, to key technologies that are growing in importance across all sectors.
“Our aim is to empower talented individuals as early as possible to solve real-world challenges that have a genuine impact on business and society. AI skills are more crucial than ever for this,” emphasised General Manager Florian Brunner. “Today, industry is looking not only for technical know-how, but also for people who can understand complex problems, take responsibility and develop solutions collaboratively. This is precisely where our training comes in: we combine key technologies with the future skills that companies will absolutely need tomorrow – critical thinking, teamwork, resilience and the ability to quickly familiarise oneself with new contexts.”
Launch of the partnership with AI Factory Austria AI:AT
The new collaboration between 42 Vienna and AI Factory Austria AI:AT was presented to great interest. Karl Kugler, Co-Lead of AI Factory Austria AI:AT, emphasised: “The collaboration with 42 Vienna is an important step towards building a strong AI ecosystem in Austria. With our supercomputing infrastructure, practical training programmes and a broad network spanning research, industry and public administration, we are jointly creating an environment in which students and companies can develop real-world AI applications and drive strategic innovation.”
Insights into AI in practice and an honouring of the graduates
The technical highlight of the evening was a keynote speech by AI Factory Austria AI:AT, which shed light on the key challenges, opportunities and necessary framework conditions for effective AI applications. In the subsequent panel discussions, experts debated how far AI has actually progressed beyond the hype.
Students from 42 Vienna also presented specific projects from their companies, demonstrating how artificial intelligence is already creating real added value today. The event was rounded off with a ceremony honouring last year’s 58 Common Core graduates, who represent a generation actively shaping the digital future.
